The initial Driver CPC is a new qualification within the transport industry.
It applies to new drivers who
require LGV cat C1 or C who want to drive professionally. The initial qualification confirms you have the required knowledge and skills to carry out your duties as a professional HGV Driver.   

The initial Driver CPC qualification consists of 4 modules which must be passed.

Module 1.
Module 1a: Multiple Choice Test:  score at least 85 out of 100 correct.
Module 1b: Hazard Perception Test: score at least 67 out of 100 correct

Module 2.
Case Study Test: A theory test based on case studies and scenarios.

Module 1 and 2 must be taken at a DSA approved theory test centre.

Module 3.
Pass the LGV practical driving test: 1 1/2 hours drive on varying road and traffic conditions.

Module 4.
Practical Demonstration and Oral knowledge exam. Demonstrate the ability to ensure vehicle, load safety and security.

ONCE YOU HAVE PASSED ALL 4 MODULES YOU WILL BE AWARDED A DQC

(Driver Qualification Card).

 YOU WILL THEN BE SUBJECT TO PERIODIC DRIVER CPC TRAINING (35 hours every 5 years)
